i honestly think it’s time for me to get back into my hockey romance era, because i’ve missed these vibes so much. I loved that there wasn’t a third act breakup, and focused more on two people working together to get their HEA. pippa hartley is standing in my living room, playing with the dog, and i can’t breathe" AND SHE THOUGHT HE DIDNT REMEMBER HER🤭 i was giggling and kicking my feet like an idiot the whole time. Jamie, also stepping way out of his comfort zone, letting Pippa in and opening his life to her was such amazing character development. In the follow-up to Behind the Net, Pippa’s sister Hazel, one of the hockey team’s physical therapists, agrees to pretend to be the girlfriend of the Storm’s extremely sought-after captain, Rory, when her emotionally manipulative, cheating ex-boyfriend shows up at the arena as the team’s newest recruit. The big publishers usually err on the less spicy side but I'm really, really happy this book had some spice! imagine you're lowkey destitute so your sister is able to swing you a job as an assistant to a pro hockey player.

Between wearing his jersey at games, rowdy parties with the team, and being brave on stage again, I’m falling for him. Over time they learn much more about each other until they each finally reveal that they remembered each other and had crushes. Behind the Net is a hockey romance novel set in Vancouver, Canada and features main characters Pippa and Jamie. Archer introduced a great cast of characters in the teammates Jamie has, and they are going to be perfect additions for future novels.

For instance, Jamie’s near-constant use of Pippa’s “songbird” and “pretty assistant” nicknames gave me such an intense physical ick I almost chucked my Kindle into the sea. the characters were likeable and cute together, but it wasn’t any of those characters you’ll remember for the rest of your life, but that’s good too sometimes, they can’t all be nesta archeron's and dante maroni’s. PS3: I need a book about the situation between coach Ward, Jordan and Chris, pls give it to us, thankyou! I was pleasantly surprised to find there was no third-act breakup, but that's probably because it took all that time to get together so by the time they were together there were only 50 pages of the book left. The dual narration of the chapters is PERFECT for this book, and the voice actors (artists- sorry I’ve never received an audiobook before) were spot on.

Stephanie please never stop writing, this is the 5th book of yours I’ve read this week and I’ll be running out of options soon at this rate. I’ve really enjoyed Stephanie Archer’s books in the past, and overall I liked this one, though it wasn’t always easy. The characters worked together instead of against each other to get what they wanted and that is so refreshing to read!

i’m also really looking forward to the second book in this series, because i already know that bantering is gonna be great and i love the characters. There is a subplot with matters relating parental issues that they both resolve in the end in a very real and mature way and for anyone that might concernes, yes i kept crying and ceying bc of the relief and happiness i felt. Pippa has spent her years since finishing school touring with her high school sweetheart Zach and his band, but after she is dumped at the airport and given a plane ticket home, she finds herself broke and lonely, forced to crash with her sister. Especially since my attempt to read Icebreaker ended in a wholehearted and rare-for-me DNF moment — woof.

I really could not get enough of Pippa and Jamie, this book quickly became one of my favourites and I can’t wait to read the next book, which I gratefully received as an ARC. I thought I was popping in for a quick cheeky read, but this is a full-bodied, pining, everlasting romance. Zach did a number on her self esteem and now she has been assigned assistant duties to Jamie, who she had a massive crush on in high school. plus i also want to give myself a break and not force reviews on books where i actually don’t have that much to say, because those reviews don't make me happy and most of it is just words and i'm just trying to fill out the review, but you’ll no longer be seeing me do that.Pippa’s growth, rising from the shadow she’s walked in for years and going for everything she ever wanted made my heart SO happy.
