This is a beautifully deep, rich tawny style, with almond and hazelnut aromas combined with notes of honey and figs. I was just really luck that some of the cork that was stuck in the bottle was above the lip so I could just pull it out, and I didn't have to end up straining the port into the glass! Graham’s 10 Year Old Tawny epitomises the passion for excellence and precision that is at the heart of every one of our handmade Tawny Ports.

This relates to the average number of years they have spent maturing in barrels before they are finally bottled. Of course, the wine itself is no longer transported down the Rio Douro in wooden rafts but there is still plenty of heritage and time honoured traditions of manufacturing this particular fortified wine which was devised by the British during the Napoleonic wars to ensure that the nobility still had wine on their table. They too have been involved with Port and the Douro for many generations, with ancestry dating back to the mid-17th century. Its mountainous terrain and steep, winding valleys create a kaleidoscope of microclimates, each producing unique wines. Grahams 10 Years Old is a tribute to craftsmanship, the passion for excellence, and unmatched precision, which is at the heart of every handmade Tawny Port. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included. Today, five Symington cousins share responsibility for every aspect of the company and personally make the Graham’s port. These developments have established Graham’s as one of the true pioneers of the Port Trade, a position which was reaffirmed when they received the ‘The World’s Most Admired Port Brand’ award from Drinks International in 2016 and 2017. This has been aged for an average of 10 years from lots of different aged barrels to produce a consistent house style. It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends this old Tawny its structure and longevity.

After a decade of care and slow seasoned oak maturation this wine is a wonderful example of the complex nutty and mature fruit flavours of Tawny Port. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Graham's was one of the first port companies to invest in its own vineyards in Portugal’s Douro Valley in 1890. Tawny ports are aged in barrels where they develop a golden colour and the associated nutty flavours. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product. For example, they mention that it arrived well packaged, looks great in their presentation tubes, and is delivered excellently. Time-honoured skills, craftsmanship and dedication are handed down from generation to generation at Graham's in the form of three unique arts - the art of blending, the art of coopering and the art of ageing - 10 produce an extraordinary selection of Tawny Ports.
